Quickbuck.xyz
This domain has been seized by Salt, the original owner of Quickbuck.
The game was sold to Brodie L., after I decided it was too stressful to run and maintain the game.
Prior to the sale, Brodie had quite an owners complex, constantly speaking on my behalf(without my knowledge) and pressuring me to add features he wanted. He also wanted me to add monetization, which I had no plans to do, but I agreed anyway, as I knew he would keep bugging me about it. However, I did not do anything to go towards monetization, not even setting up a payments account.
This recent situation occurred after two things happened:
- Brodie found out about my new project, Spreadshift, a "ripoff" of Quickbuck
- A hack occurred, after my computer was used to give database access to others, causing a mass deletion of data.
1. Spreadshift
I had started working on Spreadshift a week prior to the hack. I was very unhappy with the lack of control, unfair moderation, and corruption within the mod team and playerbase.
Quickbuck was never designed to have quintillions of dollars in the economy, let alone trillions. This occurred after Brodie rewrote the tick purchasing bot, as it was having issues before. This rewrite however, caused the game to be incredibly unfair. Prior to the rewrite, the richest companies had about $600M in cash. After the rewrite, the top company had quintillions of dollars. Whether that was intentional or not, it was not communicated at all, and it required early game players to either constantly restock their items every 5 minutes for hours, or ask others for money.
Pre-rewrite however, Brodie allowed his exploit tester to keep the money. Yes, money that was gained through exploits was allowed to be kept. Furthermore, he granted immunity to his close friends, even if they were explicitly exploiting and getting an advantage over the players. Brodie, after facing backlash, then decided to take moderation action, by simply issuing a warning, and taking what was essentially a bribe.
2. The Hack
On the morning of December 2, my computer was used to give database access to others, causing a mass data deletion. I was then blamed for the hack, because the attacker shared access with others and revoked his. I even gave Brodie access back, after it was revoked. He said:
“i know your strategic enough to wait until release to sabotage to make for ease of transferral of players to spreadshift”
This was a complete misrepresentation. The hack was not my fault, and Spreadshift was nowhere near ready. Spreadshift only had about 3 tabs complete at that point, and much more work was needed.
Now the idea of Quickbuck started with me over two years ago. I only sold Brodie the code, and the data. Never the idea. I still hold the Quickbuck domain, brand assets, and it was originally my idea. So when I was truly unhappy with what Quickbuck had turned into, I wanted to create my own version, ignoring the previous mistakes I made.
He then went on to make personal attacks against me saying:
“you are truly a terrible person of which I dont want anything to do with after this”
and
“you attack me, seth and everyone you dont like and its out of true spite yes this is personal but not out of spite like yours is.”
After being asked for any evidence of me “attacking” anyone, he did not send any.
Conclusion
From this, I hope you can see how corrupt of an owner Brodie is. Because I own the domain quickbuck.xyz, I have decided to put it up here for all players to see what a sh*tty owner they have.
